Offshore Accelerator for System Integration and Storage (OASIS)

Developing new energy storage technology is extremely important, but at the same time very capital-intensive, with long development times and high risk. With this project, we will help entrepreneurs who have new solutions in the field to have the technology tested and verified, as well as to build market knowledge and networks.

Offshore Accelerator for System Integration and Storage (OASIS)

Funding — EU, Møre og Romsdal Fylkeskommune

Objective

The OASIS project is a comprehensive program to accelerate the development and use of systems integration and storage in offshore renewable energy, for small and medium-sized enterprises.

Today, expensive wind turbines are shut down when electricity is cheap, rather than producing electricity and having it stored and being able to deliver it when needed. This leads to a waste of potentially cheap and renewable energy, as wind turbines are shut down instead of fully utilizing their production. The consequence is higher electricity prices and less stable access to power, as storage and flexible delivery are not optimally utilized.

The main goal of the OASIS project is to help SMEs develop in three crucial areas: Technology development, commercial development and sustainable design. The project will set up an accelerator that gives SME companies with relevant solutions within these focus areas access to market knowledge, research capacity, testing facilities, consultancy, and an international network. The selected companies will be helped to develop storage and grid integration technology that makes energy supply more stable.

Grid integration technology refers to technologies and solutions that enable the efficient and stable connection of various energy sources, such as renewable energy sources such as wind, solar, or wave power, to the existing power grid. The purpose of the technology is to ensure that the energy generated from these sources can be seamlessly integrated into the power grid without causing imbalance or instability.

We are interested in companies that are interested in the OASIS project. Contact us if you would like more information and assistance in applying to join the project.
